We're Hiring

Product Content Lead

Beyond Retail is an award-winning multi-website online retailer offering bathroom, kitchen and heating products to Britain’s homeowners and tradespeople. Over 8 million people visit our websites each year, and we’re on a mission to help create well-designed homes that look great, feel special, and have a positive impact on people's everyday lives.

We’ve only just turned 10 years old, and in that time we’ve accelerated from zero to £50m/year revenue, won local and national awards, and grown to 150-plus people. Our three websites - Drench, Tap Warehouse and Only Radiators - are growing from strength to strength and we’re looking for a Product Content Lead who will help us to continue our growth journey.

Location: This role will involve travelling to our office and warehouse in Bournemouth regularly (at least once a week), in order to take photos of products etc. WFH at other times is fully supported.

What you’ll be doing:

Without a physical showroom for customers to touch and feel our products, we need to work twice as hard to showcase our products whilst giving our customers the confidence to purchase our carefully curated products.

Our Product Content Lead will be responsible for developing, growing and owning our onsite product content in the form of written product descriptions and key features, developing our own label product marketing in the form of feature shots and video content, as well as overseeing our CGI development via leading our Product Content Executive.

  • Working with our internal product teams (buying and ecommerce merchandising) and our suppliers to understand what’s important about our products to be able to translate this into engaging written content.
  • Harnessing AI and technology to create customer-focused, feature rich written content for our new product launches
  • Optimising our written content for our existing products to improve conversion rates
  • Working with our CGI artists and using your skills and experience to develop informative and feature rich product marketing for our product pages
  • Working in-house and with external partners to drive our product video strategy
  • Spotting opportunities to improve product content across our three sites
  • Team leadership of our Product Content Executive who is responsible for the day to day management of CGI and image editing
  • Monitoring our CGI costs to ensure we’re delivering commercially viable assets
  • Driving forward projects that will improve our CGI and product content process

Who we’re after:

This is a multi-faceted role so we’re after someone with stellar organisation skills, a creative eye, an impressive level of attention to detail, and top notch writing skills. You’ll have a passion for products and customers by making sure our product content is developed with them in mind. You’ll have demonstrable experience of working in a similar role in a fast-paced environment where you’ve had to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You’ll be confident at using Photoshop and ideally will have previous experience of using spreadsheets/Google Sheets.

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience of direct team leadership within a supervisory role, however we will consider candidates with relevant transferable experience.

What we can offer you:

  • Flexible working hours — we work 40 hours per week, typically starting and finishing between 8am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday
  • 25+ holiday days
  • All the tech you need + remote working budget for setting up your home office
  • A fantastic office, or flexibility to work at home.
  • A company-wide commitment to learning and development
  • A friendly, customer-focused environment built on teamwork, collaboration, ownership, and transparency
  • Team and company-wide social events
  • No corporate dress code
  • Free fresh fruit and healthy(ish) snacks in the office + library, board games
  • Headspace subscription

Our Values
Everything we do is shaped by our ten core values. These inform the foundations of our relationships with customers and each other but they also shape how we measure and reward the performance of our colleagues. Simply put, success is not about who you are or how loud you shout, but about the impact you make and what you do. We encourage doing rather than dreaming – if you have an idea, speak up and we will listen! Everyone’s opinion matters and any suggestions are welcomed.

Our Diversity
We aim to foster a culture where individuals of all backgrounds feel confident in bringing their whole selves to work, feel included and their talents are nurtured, empowering them to contribute fully to our vision and goals.

Work is not a place; it is what you do…
We believe the future of work is about flexibility. Not everyone does their best work from an office, and not everyone wants to work from home exclusively. Our employees can choose to work flexibly either from home or in our office. To demonstrate our commitment to this, we have a fantastic Home Working Support Scheme! We want to ensure that those who do choose to work from home can still work in the best possible environment, and are not left out of pocket.

In a nutshell, we offer:

  • A one-off allowance of £500 for you to set up your home office

If you would like further information on this position before applying then please get in touch, otherwise please send in your CV for consideration.
