You may have spotted us in the business press recently with some very exciting news! We are relocating and consolidating our warehouse and office space with a newly built, larger unit on the Aviation Business Park in Bournemouth.
In summer 2023, we leased a 35,397 sq ft warehouse and this new lease is for a further 39,000 sq ft unit called ABP39 which Rigby Real Estate, who own and manage the site, only completed at the end of last year. This latest unit will have more than 34,000 sq ft of warehousing space, two storeys of offices and 40 car parking spaces, and is built to energy efficient standards.
The business park which is located adjacent to Bournemouth Airport has been our home for the last eight years. Due to the exponential growth we’ve experienced, we've had to constantly expand into new units - six in total - with around 100,000 sq ft combined space. This latest move will consolidate all that space into two units enabling swifter and more efficient processes and plenty of room to continue our momentum into the future.
While the move itself isn’t very far from our current setting, this signals a new era for Beyond Retail as well as cementing just how far we have come over the last 13 years. Having started out selling taps in 2011, we’ve grown significantly. Our three websites: Tap Warehouse, Drench and Only Radiators offer more than 20,000 product lines and welcome around 8 million visitors a year.
With this new warehouse space, we look set to reach our targets of £100m turnover by 2026. Here’s what our founder and Managing Director, Elliott Lees Bell had to say: “We’re really excited about our new unit because it means we can carry out plans to increase stock and that allows us to expand what we’re doing with our own-label brands and ranges, while safeguarding against supply chain shocks like we’re seeing right now in the Red Sea.
“Our mission is to help our customers create well-designed homes that look great, feel special and have a positive impact on their everyday lives. Looking ahead, we want to bring our expertise beyond kitchens, bathrooms and heating to other spaces inside or outside the home, and also grow our trade customer base.
“Our aim is to reach £100m turnover by 2026, and as we continue to scale it’s vital that we hold onto the great culture and values that we’ve always had. Happy people do great things, and we believe that work should be fun. That’s why we care so much about teamwork and collaboration.”
